What began as an 18’ x 20’ garage was thoughtfully expanded by 251 square feet and transformed into a bright, open 611-square-foot residence designed for long-term flexibility.

Originally conceived as a private living space for family, the ADU offered independence while remaining close to home. As plans evolved, the homeowner’s 92-year-old mother-in-law chose to remain in the main house — and the newly completed unit quickly became a high-performing rental.

The layout feels intentional rather than improvised.
